Today's Reality

As more and more technology becomes the norm, kids are being exposed to more and more digital media for longer and longer periods of time. All of this can really wreck havoc on their perception, self-confidence, and behavior.
Converlation is all about helping kids become informed media consumers and getting started on the path to conscientious technology use. We never say that technology is bad. We also never say that it's good. The message is that technology, like anything, is best in moderation, and that we should always be aware of why we are using it and what impact it may be having.
Who I am
Right. Introductions. I'm Erin Eberle Quilinquin. I'm a former middle school teacher and current college professor and instructional designer. My specialty is digital education, so I've been in and around this high-tech space for a long time. I've seen first hand how it impacts kids, in and out of the classroom.
I'm an advocate for technology use as a tool. Even when I'm building online courses for a client, I always want to know why we would make a choice to use a certain type of tech.
Since much of my work is in a highly virtual environment, I unplug whenever I get the chance. I love reading and hiking. I do guilty pleasure enjoy video games, but I especially like getting together with my friends for board game nights or Dungeons and Dragons (don't judge me!)
